Institute of Continuing Education

Continuing education is currently one of the most exciting, prominent and fastest changing fields in global higher education. The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is an established leader in the field, tracing its roots back to 1873. ICE is based at the historic Madingley Hall campus, four miles west of Cambridge.

As identified in the Government's Industrial Strategy, continuing education will be central to upskilling and re-skilling sectors and communities affected by technological change or Brexit. It also serves as an essential gateway to higher education for mature students.

Whether mid-career health professionals learning about genomic medicine, mid-life adults seeking to change careers in emerging sectors such as coaching, creative writing or science communication, or retirees studying the history of art or philosophy, ICE provides world-class courses, drawing on the resources of one of the world's best universities, for adults from all backgrounds.

ICE currently enrols over 4,000 students each year on short courses and undergraduate and postgraduate award-bearing courses. We have ambitious plans to double the number of enrolments over the next four years.

To support our growth plans we seek to appoint a Partnerships Coordinator who shares our commitment to supporting adults to learn at every stage of their life.

The successful candidate, reporting to the Head of Business Development, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of partner relationships (internal and external), ensuring that all internal and external partnerships meet the partners’ expectations and are delivered in alignment with ICE’s strategic plan. They will ensure that external and internal partnerships are managed effectively throughout their lifecycle and help to deliver ICE’s strategic targets.

A record of achievement in relevant posts within higher education and/or related sectors is required, along with the ability to develop professional relationships across a wide range of B2B networks. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of collaborating with/managing projects with external partners and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work flexibly to adapt to changing environments.

In return, the Institute will offer the successful candidate a significant opportunity to advance their business development career in this vital sector, as part of one of the world's best universities.
