The Institute of Continuing Education is recruiting an Apprentice Hospitality Supervisor (Level 3) to join their training scheme, starting in July 2017. The Apprentice will work in various operational departments of Madingley Hall (including Food and Beverage, Front of House, housekeeping, maintenance and duty management) offering the highest standards of customer service.

This role also involves the sale of alcohol and therefore, applicants must be aged 18 or over.

Madingley Hall is the Home of the Institute of Continuing Education and is an award winning Teaching, Training, Conference and Events Venue and Hotel located 3 miles outside the centre of Cambridge. Recently awarded a 3 star rating from the Sustainable Restaurants Association and voted Best Budget Hotel by Laterooms.com, the successful candidate will gain experience working in all operational departments within the Hall and working with a dedicated, positive and professional group of Hospitality professionals.

The successful applicant will be currently undertaking or have previously undertaken an intermediate apprenticeship (to NVQ Level 2) in Hospitality Services. We offer a supportive working environment and mentoring scheme, together with full training in conjunction with Cambridge Regional College. We also offer generous annual leave entitlements, free car parking for staff at Madingley Hall, an extensive employee benefits scheme and a contributory pension scheme.

The Hall and the operational staff, provide teaching and meeting room facilities along with full 'hotel services' to a broad range of the Institute's own programme of courses and events as well as to commercial conferences meeting and function activities for a wide range of external clients. The Hall currently has 15 meeting rooms, 62 en- suite bedrooms, a Bar, Dining Hall, public spaces and eight acres of gardens. The Hall operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and this role will be expected to work on a rota system to cover the peak operational hours of 7am to 11pm Monday to Sunday.

Applicants should have GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, good general IT skills, the ability to work as part of a team, good communication skills with the ability to interact (verbally and in writing) with a wide range of people. We are looking for an individual who has enthusiasm for customer service and the hospitality industry.

In order to be eligible for this apprenticeship, applicants should not already have a degree or other Level 4 qualification in a similar subject, or be on any other government-funded training.

The position is fixed-term for 2 years (the duration of the Apprenticeship).
