The epitaph of Tiberius Claudius Secundus reads, "The baths, wine and love corrupt our bodies, but the baths, wine and love make life". So come and enjoy a weekend with the ancient Romans as we explore how they spent their leisure time, whether at the baths, the theatre, the amphitheatre, the circus, at a festival, in the country or in the pub. We shall read what the Romans say about their leisure pursuits and use images of Roman buildings and artefacts to inform our understanding of those pursuits.
