We will examine butterfly anatomy, morphology and the symmetrical patterns of the veins and wings. Observational drawing, accurate recording, watercolour painting, watercolour techniques and colour mixing will all be covered, together with an examination of the work of some of the world's great insect illustrators.

11:00 Students to transfer work onto watercolour paper. Tutor to demonstrate accurate colour mixing and watercolour techniques.

16:30 Students will paint their butterfly. Tutor to demonstrate further watercolour techniques.
