This Beginners’ workshop is part of a programme designed for those who want to learn Classical Greek. Students are introduced to the basic elements of grammar through reading passages adapted from ancient Greek authors. Two levels are offered: Continuing Beginners’ Greek (Level 1 - this group started in September 2016) and Continuing Beginners’ Greek (Level 2 - this group started in September 2015), but new members at both levels are welcome. Both groups will continue working through JACT Reading Greek (CUP, 2nd edition, 2007, two vols: Text and Vocabulary, and Grammar and Exercises). The starting points are:

Level 1 - Starting at Section 4 of Reading Greek.

Level 2 - Starting at Section 11 of Reading Greek.

For those who wish to develop their studies there are courses at Intermediate and Advanced levels. At Intermediate level students read collections of passages selected from major Greek writers whilst at Advanced level they are able to choose from the whole of Greek literature.
