Gainsborough House gardens are dominated by its magnificent gnarled mulberry tree which sets the scene in fruit and silk. Thomas Gainsborough was an originator of the English landscape painting school. Join garden historian, Caroline Holmes, to discover his landscape legacy. You will learn about his Bath connections, not least Bampfylde-Warre, taking us to Hestercombe and Stourhead, and contrasting with the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens as depicted by Hogarth.
