What are the preoccupations of contemporary fiction? What new forms and styles have arisen in the new millennium? We will look at three exciting contemporary novels, including Marlon James's A Brief History of Seven Killings and Ali Smith's How to Be Both, and explore their themes and ambitious, innovative story-telling.
