Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)

The Institute of Continuing Education marks its 150th Anniversary with ground-breaking tuition fee reductions.

In 2023, as part of the 150-year anniversary of the world’s first university-led open access education, we have launched a 150-year anniversary tuition fee support programme which includes tuition fee support as well as an anniversary fee concession.

Our 150-year anniversary tuition fee support can be used to reduce the cost of study by offering £1,873 towards any, one-year undergraduate Certificate or Diploma to 150 eligible adult learners.

The tuition fee support (or bursaries) is targeted to applicants who do not currently hold a recognised higher education level qualification (FHEQ level 4 or higher) and whose household income is under £25,000. Alternatively, for those who do not currently hold a recognised higher education level qualification (FHEQ level 4 or higher) and who live or work in the CB1-CB5 postal code area. Please refer to the 150th Anniversary Bursary Terms and Conditions here.

Furthermore, we have introduced a £150 anniversary concession to be applied to course fees to students applying for undergraduate Certificates, Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas. To register for the anniversary concession, students need to apply and enrol before February 28th or apply before that date and enrol within 14 days of receiving an offer.

Please note, these are on a first come first serve basis.
