Dr Andrews completed a PhD in Roman History at the University of Cambridge in 2018, exploring the literary creation of a political atmosphere during the Severan dynasty and its immediate aftermath (193-238 CE). His research centres on the idea of historical uncertainty, challenging fundamental aspects of modern reconstructions of Rome that continue to depend on a very small number of written sources. After two years as a Director of Studies at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, he most recently completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto.
