Dr Madleina Daehnhardt works at the intersection of INGO and academic research in international development. She currently serves as Research Advisor at Tearfund, a faith-based international relief and development agency. In this capacity, Madleina is engaged in brokering academic research collaborations, research-related consultancies and evidence translation work, and co-production of research reports and guides.
Previously, Madleina has worked in various roles in the International Development and Higher Education sectors, including posts held at World Vision China, the Cambridge Judge Business School, the Centre of Development Studies and the China Centre, Jesus College, Cambridge.
Madleina completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge, Centre for Development Studies in 2018. Her first book Migration, development and social change in the Himalayas was published by Routledge in 2019.
Madleina’s research interests encompass social and human development in LMICs, migration and mobilities, holistic well-being approaches, inclusion and ageing in development practice and INGO research best practice.
