Mary is a principal clinical scientist specialising in genomics at the C&S GLH, and an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham. She was awarded an MSc in Molecular Pathology in 2007 from Queen Mary University of London and a PhD in Genomic Medicine in 2016 from Imperial College London. She completed her first postdoc in 2019 at Imperial College London working on leukaemia MRD.
Research interests are focused on standardised implementation of genomic methodologies and point of care testing (POCT) technologies into routine clinical practice.
Mary is also a UKAS technical assessor for molecular genetics and bioinformatics, taking part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality genomic testing across the UK.
Other Interests include genomic education, scientific multi-media content developments, data visualisation and scientific illustrations.
