Regina Hansda has a PhD in Geography from University of Cambridge, UK and a double Masters: one from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE, UK) in Gender Studies and the other one from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM, Bhopal, India) on natural resource management. Prior to embarking her PhD Regina worked for seven odd years in the NGO sector on environment and development issues in rural India. She has also worked as an International Consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), Rome, Italy.
Her current research interests are on alternative agriculture, indigenous food, food security/food sovereignty and development geography employing feminist methodologies and theories from a post-colonial lens.
