Malavika Anderson is currently Head of Live Programme at Wellcome Collection where she oversees an inter-disciplinry programme of enagement with collections and exhibitions. Prior to working at WellcomeCollection, Lalavika spent several years at the University of Cambridge - first in Public Engagement organising the annual Festival of Ideas and later as Arts Council England's Change Maker at the University of Cambrige museums.
She has also spent much of her career working in India in a number of different cultural organisations and in a wide variety of contexts including museums and galleries, arts organisations, artist studios and academic institutuions.
Malavika's academic interests are primarily around post-colonial perspectves on museums. Looking at collections in the UK and also in India, she is interested in how objects acquire meaning in various muesum contexts and the roles that institutions, audiences and artists play in creating these narratives.
