Sean began his career as a Special Effects technician on big-budget studio films, including STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE and James Bond movies GOLDENEYE and TOMORROW NEVER DIES.
Sean’s debut feature film as a writer/director and co-producer, DEADLINE, starring Brittany Murphy and Thora Birch, showcased at Berlin, Cannes, and the American Film Market in Los Angeles, where it sold for distribution to 45 territories around the world including the U.S. DEADLINE premiered on Sky Cinema in the UK.
Through his production company Frenzy Films, Sean produced Stéphanie Joalland’s debut feature, THE QUIET HOUR, a sci-fi thriller starring Dakota Blue Richards which premiered on Sky Cinema in the UK and was recently released on NETFLIX after selling around the world.
As a WRITER-DIRECTOR, Sean is currently at an advanced stage of development of THE LAST MOON, a supernatural horror/thriller that was selected for the 2021 European Genre Forum, Frontières Forum, NAFF, Film London PFM, BIF Market in Brussels and won the inaugural 2021 Irish Film London Fellowship to the Stowe Lab in the U.S. Former Lionsgate UK President Nicola Pearcey recently joined the team as an executive producer. Well-established European international sales company LevelK has just boarded the project, as well as 2022 EFP’s Cannes Producer on the Move Stellar Film (Estonia) as a co-producing partner. THE LAST MOON is now casting.
Sean’s other project, 90 MINUTES, a contained thriller, has just been selected for 2022 Film London PFM and is currently being set up as a Virtual Production project in the UK.
Most recently, Sean’s projects as a PRODUCER have been selected for well-regarded international events. His project ICE, written and to be directed by Stéphanie Joalland, was selected for the 2020 Frontières co-production market, BiFan’s NAFF and Sofia Meetings and is now set up with NYC-based Visit Films. His project BUGUL NOZ (THE NIGHT SHEPHERD), a supernatural horror film, was selected for the 2021 Filmarket Hub’s Celtic Screen Talent Showcase during EIFF and 2022 Frontières in Montreal which he attended with the support of the British Film Council/BFI Network.
Sean is a Berlinale Talent and Cannes Producers Network alumnus. He is a full member of the Writers Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) and Directors UK.
Sean has taught classes for RAINDANCE and independently in Canada, UK and Berlin and worked as an INDUSTRY MENTOR on the RAINDANCE MA in Filmmaking with De Montford University in England. Sean also lectures on screenwriting and runs screenwriting workshops on the MA in Screenwriting at the LONDON COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION - UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS LONDON (UAL). He is regularly invited to share his expertise on the MFA in Production at his alma mater UCLA. He was recently invited to participate in panels at the UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE (ICE) on the MSt in Writing for Performance.
Sean's goal as a tutor is to encourage and inspire students to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
