Tim Reilly obtained his Doctorate at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge, researching Sino-Russian relations in both the Arctic and NE Asia. Prior to this, he enjoyed an initial career in the military followed by specialization in New Business Development (NBD) in emerging markets, mainly in the oil & gas, telecoms, and consultancy industries. His research interests are Arctic energy, transportation, and infrastructure with emphasis also on strategic aspects of the governance of the Arctic. He is also an adviser to the UK government on Arctic and Astro-Polar affairs. Tim is the Founder of the Polar Consultancy Group Ltd, which specialises in the Arctic, the Astro-Polar interface, and the technologies that link together the Polar regions and the Space domain.
