Mindfulness has recently gained a significant amount of attention as a useful skill in diverse domains from education, clinical therapy and the work place. This course reviews the cognitive psychology and neuroscience that might help us to understand how mindfulness works. We will seek to answer some of the following questions. Does mindfulness help us to overcome cognitive biases? Does it enable more coherent neural processing? What is the evidence that it is effective?
