Classics tutors

Dr Janet Watson holds a PhD in Classics, and has a special interest in the Homeric epics. She has been teaching in higher and continuing education for more than 25 years. She currently teaches at Newcastle University in the school of History, Classics and Archaeology.

Dr Christine Spillane graduated from the University of Reading where she undertook research into imagery in Virgil’s Aeneid. Her doctoral thesis with the Open University examined Late Antique and Medieval illuminated manuscripts of the Aeneid. She is an experienced teacher of both secondary school students and adults.
