Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)

Welcome to the ICE Library - which is based in the Student Resource and Study Centre of the Institute of Continuing Education, Madingley Hall, Cambridge University.

This is available to all current ICE students enrolled on our award bearing programmes.

Terms and Conditions

Before you use the library, please ensure that you have read the Terms and Conditions first.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

A number of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) have been drafted to try to answer most of the common questions or queries that you may have.  These are published here and will be updated on a regular basis in line with learner feedback.

Log in to the ICE Library System

To access the library system to discover the books available for reference and short-term loan, please click here.

Access to the library system is restricted to students enrolled on our award-bearing programmes only, so if you have not already been invited to join and believe that you should be entitled to access the library, please contact us.

When is the library open?

Owing to social distancing requirements the library itself is not currently open to Students, but you can still reserve books online and come to Madingley Hall Reception to collect them. Alternatively, you can opt to have books posted out to you instead. ICE will cover the cost of postage to you, but you will be responsible for the cost of returning the book.

A receptionist is on duty to accept returns and issue reserved books from 7:30am - 10:45pm.

How can we help?
