Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)

The University of Cambridge’s Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), based at Madingley Hall, offers a vibrant and diverse array of courses for personal enrichment and academic and professional development. Courses range from non-award-bearing courses, many of which are open-access, to innovative part-time Master of Studies (MSt) degrees. Around 300 ICE panel tutors, across a variety of academic disciplines, make a vital contribution to the quality of teaching, learning and student support.

We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals with expertise in entrepreneurship to join our expert panel of hourly-paid, part-time sessional tutors. The panel tutor will undertake a variety of allocated roles on the Undergraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship: Venture Creation (2023-2024) such as: the delivery of online teaching; providing students with ongoing academic support; conducting marking and providing feedback on assessments; and participating in team meetings. Applications from individuals with experience in the concepts and ideas that underpin entrepreneurship, experience of developing and implementing business plans, creating and establishing new venture ideas, and with skills and experience in pitches, presentations and reports are particularly welcome. In addition, we are looking for one, or more, panel tutors to lead the individual units or provide academic oversight of the programme.

Candidates will be educated to at least Master’s level and will have experience of teaching in a higher education setting. ICE’s Undergraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship: Venture Creation course can be viewed here:

Preferably, applicants will have experience of teaching diverse cohorts of undergraduate students in an established university setting and have experience of marking and providing feedback for summative assessments. A recognised higher education teaching qualification, or specific entrepreneurship experience would also be beneficial. A student-centred approach and an interest in supporting adult part-time students from a broad range of educational backgrounds is essential.

The final closing date for applications is Monday 5 June 2023

Conversations with candidates will take place after the closing date.

Panel Tutors are not employees of the University but receive a Temporary Worker Agreement for their services from the Institute before their course begins, subject to the necessary Right to Work checks.
