Institute of Continuing Education

We are exploring the possibility of developing an International Pre-Master's course here at Cambridge in 2018.

The proposed course would aim to prepare international students for Master's-level study in the fields of Engineering or Business Management. It would help students to develop their:

  • subject-specific knowledge
  • English language and academic literacy skills
  • study and critical thinking skills
  • research skills

Applicants would be expected to hold a good undergraduate degree (2.i or overseas equivalent) in a subject related to Engineering or Business Management. They would need to be competent in the English language, with a minimum IELTS score on entry of 6.5 (no element lower than 6.0).

It is proposed that the course would be taught full-time over one year. It would carry 120 credits at FHEQ level 6 – equivalent to third-year undergraduate level – in the UK's Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS).
