Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)

Securing your place on the course

  • All students (regardless of funding source) must confirm and secure their place by providing payment of either a first installment, full payment of course fees, or paying a deposit if you will be paying via a student loan

  • If you are paying for your course via funding from an external source, there are a number of things you should bear in mind during the application process.

Please speak with the Enrolment Team if you need support with payment plans, applying to funding opportunities, or require a different method of payment. We are here to support you and can be reached via email: enquiries@ice.cam.ac.uk

If somebody else is paying for your course

  • If you are receiving funding via an external source (e.g., From HEE, your employer or other source), it is your responsibility to ensure the fees are paid by the agreed dates (you may wish to pay the installments yourself and claim the money back from us once your funder has made the full payment).
  • If for any reason your external source funding is not confirmed or received, then you will remain liable for the course fee and a refund will not be made.

If you have applied for a student loan

  • If you are intending to apply (or have applied) for a loan from the Student Loans Company (SLC) you can pay £50 to secure your place on the course. This deposit is refunded once your loan is confirmed, and we have received payment from the SLC. Please note, Student loans only cover one course per year.
    • *Students studying on part-time courses will need to apply for a part-time loan.
  • If after 2 weeks from your course start date, your loan has not been confirmed or proof of application has not been sent to the student financing team (studentfinancing@ice.cam.ac.uk), you will automatically revert on to our standard installment plan.
  • *Please note that ICE is not a part of the Advanced Learner Loan scheme. Applicants should apply to the SLC.
