University of Cambridge International Summer Programme 2024

Palestinian Scholarships

Please note: all available funding has now been allocated, and we are very pleased to be welcoming the 10 Palestinian learners this summer.

The University of Cambridge International Summer Programme is offering up to ten fully funded places to Palestinian learners. The International Summer Programme is a fully residential programme in Cambridge. The programme takes place over four weeks, 07 July 2024 to 03 August 2024.

This opportunity is open to all Palestinians. Priority will be given to those Palestinians from the Occupied Palestinian Territories (Gaza and the West Bank) who only hold Palestinian Authority identification documents or passports; Palestinian refugees in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Turkey who only hold UNRWA or other host-country issued travel documents; Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem with only Jerusalem residency cards or laissez-passer documents; and Palestinian citizens of Israel currently resident in Israel.

The International Summer Programme aims to deliver high-quality university-level education in a range of subjects.  Courses are offered at the equivalent level to the first year of a UK undergraduate degree.  The programme is formed around a global community of learning, with the central aim of promoting cross-cultural understanding and fellowship.

Attendees must be 18 years of age or older by 01 July 2024.  There is no upper age limit.  All applicants must be able to demonstrate strong spoken and written English, IELTS 6.5 (or recognised equivalent).

Attendees can participate in the programme for one, two, three or four weeks, although two weeks is the recommended minimum. For each week of study, learners select a morning course and an afternoon course. Some courses have 10 sessions over two weeks, some courses have 5 sessions over one week. Courses are complemented by a series of daily plenary lectures, exploring new ideas in a wide range of disciplines. To add to the learning experience, there are additional evening talks and events.

Courses cover a wide range of subjects, and are listed at this site: https://www.ice.cam.ac.uk/course/international-summer-programme-2024
Residential accommodation is provided a Cambridge College.  Breakfast and evening meals are included. The Colleges are within easy walking distance of the main teaching site and Cambridge city centre.

Up to ten fully funded places are on offer for learners from Palestine. The scholarships will cover all costs, including tuition and evaluation fees, accommodation, the costs of visas and travel, and any incidental expenses that might be incurred. Applications are live, and further information is available via The Institute of Continuing Education.
