Since the mid-90s I've been working to engage different audiences with the sciences. I have worked in Learned Societies, museums, the civil service, and festivals. I have transformed their public work by giving them a robust evidence-based foundation, and building strong delivery partnerships. In addition, I have delivered activities in the UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Spain and Norway, running citizen science events, freelancing at science festivals, developing adult learning programmes, training researchers, and performing science comedy. In fact, if it's to do with engaging diverse audiences, then I've almost definitely done it at some time in the last 20 years. I hope my teaching style is student-centred, drawing on my training as an EFL teacher – drawing out pre-existing knowledge and adding to it in ways that feel comfortable for the learner.
