Dr Anna Cieslik received her MSc at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and an MA at Central European University in Hungary. After obtaining her PhD in Human Geography from Clark University (USA) in 2010, she spent several years as a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute in Göttingen and as an assistant professor at New Jersey City University. She lectured and published on migration, gender, and urban studies. Anna moved to Cambridge in 2016. In addition to her Course Lead role at ICE, she is School Research Facilitator for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. She is involved in analysing funding trends and in horizon scanning for funding opportunities. Working across the School of Arts and Humanities and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, she provides advice and feedback on grant applications and runs training sessions for researchers. In 2020 Anna became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. At ICE she is delivering the PGCert in Research and Innovation (Apprenticeship). She is passionate about helping researchers reach their professional goals.
