Dr Catherine Maxey

Dr Maxey is a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist and Clinical Sub-Dean for the nothern region at Cambridge University Clinical School of Medicine.  Within her role as Sub-Dean she supports the undergraduate medical education teams at Peterborough City Hospital, Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn, promoting excellence in teaching and ensuring high quality clinical placements across the region.

Dr Maxey is active in medical education at undergraduate and post-graduate level within psychiatry. This includes bedside teaching, small and large group teaching, curriclulum development and assessment.  She supervises undergraduates in their Specialist study modules in psychiatry and promotes innovative ways of learning, including an annual undergraduate "clinical curiosity day".  Dr Maxey has developed and implemented an educationall strategy at Peterborugh City Hospital for all disciplines to promote understanding around mental illness.
