Mike Hollows is a tutor on the MSt in Crime and Thriller Writing programmer at the Institute of Continuing Education, University of Cambridge, and a researcher in Creative Writing at Liverpool John Moores University.
As M.J. Hollows, he is the author of three Historical Fiction novels for HarperCollins. Goodbye for Now (2018) tells the story of two brothers in the First World War, a boy-soldier and a conscientious objector; The German Nurse (2020), a Canadian Mail and Post Bestseller, is the story of a policeman in Nazi occupied Guernsey who has to make a terrible decision regarding his Jewish girlfriend; and The German Messenger (2023), about a volunteer turned spy in the Liverpool Blitz. Mike has also written Science Fiction and Fantasy short stories for tie-in games companies such as Games Workshop, and roleplaying games for Cubicle 7.
He has taught on both the undergraduate BA Creative Writing and MA Writing programmes at Liverpool John Moores University, and at University of Chester, favouring collaborative learning and discussion groups.
