Dr Oliver Hadeler is an Institute Teaching Officer in STEM and Programme Manager of Cambridge University’s Strategic Research Network CamBridgeSens. He is a physicist by training and received a PhD in optoelectronics. His research has taken him on a journey across a variety of topics at the interface between physics and engineering, such as particle physics, optics, liquid crystals and sensor technologies.
At ICE he will develop and teach new courses across the technology and engineering portfolio. His aim is to provide opportunities for learners at different stages of their careers and life to engage with current concepts and trends in this rapidly evolving field. As Programme Manager of CamBridgeSens Oliver is engaging with a wide range of scientists and engineers at the university and industry. The cross-disciplinary aspect of the science of measurement and it’s applications are an excellent example where cutting-edge research can connect with continuing education.
Oliver likes to link theoretical concepts in science to real-world applications. Prior to joining ICE Oliver was the MRes Course Director at the Centre for Doctoral Training in Sensor Technologies and Applications where he integrated hands-on classroom experiments into his teaching.
