Dr Bali has 20 years’ hybrid background and experience in both management and technology which has included the design, development and delivery of course and programme specifications, programme management and research. This spans the areas of change management, leadership, strategy, knowledge management, research skills and methods, information systems, technology management and informatics.
As a senior academic, he built upon this background and moved into the area of health informatics and management and has led several global projects to successful completion in this field. He has overseen several international development and research projects with stakeholders in the UK, Canada, Malaysia, South Africa, the UAE, Nigeria, Oman and Finland. He has published 9 well received books, over 100 peer-reviewed articles and has been an invited speaker for many institutions including Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA), IIT (Chicago, USA) and The Ark Group (Singapore). His cancer screening project was revealed as one of the UK’s 100 ground-breaking pieces of research (“Big Ideas for the Future”, Research Councils UK, 2011).
Dr Bali consults widely and has carried out consulting and Flying Faculty activities with such large organisations as the World Bank (Washington DC), Emirates Airline (Dubai) as well as several smaller entities. In addition to these activities, he is Adjunct Faculty/Tutor with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Course Co-Ordinator at the University of Aberdeen (at both their home campus and their partner College in Qatar).
His teaching style is highly participative and engaging in order to ensure a rich and fulfilling student experience.
