Tim Glencross was born in Kent and educated at Cambridge University. His first novel, Barbarians, was called a “dazzling debut” by The Times and shortlisted for Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Best First Novel Award and Political Novel of the Year at the Political Book Awards. Hoffer, his second novel, was ‘Thriller of the Week’ in the Mail on Sunday.
At ICE’s Centre for Creative Writing, Tim teaches online introduction courses for crime and comic fiction writing. He also appears as a Guest Tutor on both the Undergraduate Certificate in Creative Writing and Undergraduate Diploma in Creative Writing.
Tim’s teaching approach may go beyond discussion of prose fiction to include, where relevant, works of cinema and painting. In the context of a creative writing workshop, he strives to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to contribute and that an appropriately collegial atmosphere prevails in the room.
