Miranda Terry is a Chartered Architect and Course Director of the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice in Architecture. Since taking two postgraduate degrees at the University of Cambridge and Kings College, London respectively, she has worked extensively in the domestic and education sectors, including a wide variety of prestige buildings and publicly funded projects. She is included, as registrant, on RIBA's conservation register, and, with a Masters in Construction Law and Arbitration, she brings as in-depth understanding of formal dispute resolution processes, in addition to her considerable technical abilities.
Miranda believes that peer-to-peer learning aids understanding. In addtion to visual presentations, she encourages students to discuss certain major concerns of the profession and broaden their understanding of architectural practice.
Miranda's approach to teaching is essentially interactive and discussion orientated. Most sessions are a combination of formal lecturing and full group discussion, with occasional small group work. One of the great advantages the Cambridge Part 3 course can offer is a small class sized group (25-30) which facilitates group discussions. From the outset of the course students are encouraged to participate in study groups outsie of the classroom which aids their progress considerably. Exchanging professional experiences with the other students is a vital part of the course's success.
