Paul has recently retired from architectural practice and keenly shares his 40 years’ experience to benefit the young people progressing through our profession.He has gained a wide experience and knowledge across varied types of business, ranging from small architectural practices to Contractor design departments, Local Authorities, to international and national multi-discipline businesses. He concluded as a Board Director overseeing the national multi-discipline resource across the country, giving him a unique practical view of working within the architectural practice.Although he trained as an architect, he believes that collaboration across all construction disciplines is the way to reach the best outcomes and has spent a lot of his career working with multi-professional teams, providing him with a rounded perspective of our profession.In holding senior positions, in all the businesses that he has worked in, enabled him to develop the business management skills needed to run a business, such as Finance, HR, IT and Sales & Marketing, that younger professionals are rarely exposed to.He has mentored many of his colleagues, including supervising graduates undertaking their placements and apprentices undertaking their RIBA Part 2 and 3 training. Paul is an academic adviser for the MSt in Architecture (degree apprenticeship) and teaches through design supervisions and professional practice reviews
