Rupert Wallis is a children’s and YA author and has published five novels with Simon & Schuster. His debut novel, The Dark Inside was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award, the Leeds Book Award and the Andersen Prize in Italy and is now being adapted into a film (scr: Joy Wilkinson; dir Alex Gabassi). His most recent novel, The Book of Mysteries, the final part of a Middle Grade fantasy trilogy, was published in May 2020. Rupert studied screenwriting and writing for television at the University of Southern California and is currently developing various TV projects in the US, including an animation series with Titmouse Animation.
As well as being a teaching associate in creative writing at ICE he has taught at Falmouth University and mentored novelists online through the Faber Academy. He has developed a limited podcast series on creative writing for children and their families which can be found on his author website and various podcast channels. Rupert is represented by the Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV & Film Agency.
