Originally from France, Stéphanie is a London-based writer-director with a love of elevated genre films, especially science-fiction and supernatural and psychological horror.
Stéphanie began her career in story development at TF1 International and Canal Plus, worked as a story editor on the Emmy-nominated animated series PET ALIENS and a dozen other international animated shows for TF1. She wrote live-action TV scripts for prime-time series and access prime-time for French broadcasters and co-created the animated version of VALERIAN for Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp for Canal+.
After several years spent working in French TV, she studied filmmaking at UCLA in Los Angeles. Her debut feature film THE QUIET HOUR, a sci-fi thriller starring Dakota Blue Richards that she produced via her UK-based production company FRENZY FILMS, premiered on Sky Cinema in the UK and is now available on NETFLIX.
Her next project as a writer-director, ICE, a sci-fi thriller, was selected for the Frontières co-production market, BiFan’s NAFF and Sofia Meetings and is now set up with NYC-based Visit Films. Her supernatural horror project BUGUL NOZ (THE NIGHT SHEPHERD) was selected for the 2022 Frontières co-production market in Montreal.
As a producer, she is currently at an advanced stage of development of THE LAST MOON, a supernatural horror/thriller that was selected for the 2021 European Genre Forum, Frontières Forum, NAFF, Film London PFM, BIF Market in Brussels and won the inaugural 2021 Irish Film London Fellowship to the Stowe Lab in the U.S. Former Lionsgate UK President Nicola Pearcey recently joined the team as an executive producer. Well-established European international sales company LevelK has just boarded the project. THE LAST MOON is now casting. Finally, Stéphanie’s other project as a producer, 90 MINUTES, a contained thriller, was selected for 2022 Film London PFM and is currently being set up as a Virtual Production project.
Stéphanie is an alumna of Berlinale Talents and IFP (now The Gotham) Emerging Narrative Lab in NYC. She was selected for the 2021/22 BIFA’s Springboard Scheme sponsored by the BFI. She is a member of SACD (Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques) and Directors UK. She is represented by Zero Gravity Management in the U.S. as a writer-director.
Stéphanie works as an academic advisor on the Raindance MA in Filmmaking with De Montford University. She has also taught BA courses in screenwriting and directing at Central Film School. She regularly lectures on screenwriting at the London College of Communication at U.A.L. and teaches short screenwriting courses at the National Film and Television School. She has also just started lecturing at MetFilm School at Ealing Studios. She has also participated in two panels at the University of Cambridge on the MSt in Writing for Performance where she directed the film reading for the 2022 final sharing of work.
Finally, Stéphanie is on the board of London-based Euroscript where she teaches short courses on short and feature film writing and teaches short courses for BECTU as part of their Prospect BECTU Bitesize Training that supports members in the creative industries.
