The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) delivers high quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying on a part-time basis, for either personal enrichment or professional development. ICE aims to ensure that the expertise and resources of the University of Cambridge are made available to all students, irrespective of their previous educational achievements.

We wish to appoint Academic Centre Coordinator to work within ICE’s Academic Centres, supporting the Heads of Academic Centre Administration, Academic Directors, Panel Tutors, students and applicants and managing the administration and development of portfolio of that Centre. The Academic Centre Coordinator focus is effective co-ordination of the activity of the Centre, in order to ensure optimum conditions for promotion, delivery and enrolment of that Centre’s award and non-award-bearing provision.

The Academic Centre Coordinator will have responsibility for all programme-related administration to ensure the smooth running, continuous improvement and sustainability of programmes within the portfolio. The remit includes co-ordinating programme strategy, planning, enrolment and quality assurance processes, working closely with the Head of Academic Centre Administration, Academic and Course Directors, tutors, students, other parts of the Institute and the wider University, and the general public.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, IT and interpersonal skills with an innovative approach to developing and improving processes and delivery. S/he will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to develop collaborative working relationships with a range of stakeholders. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential. Experience of line managing or supervising is desirable but not essential.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
