The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) and the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI) are seeking to appoint two part-time (0.5 FTE) Course Co-Leaders for 3 years in the first instance, to play vital leadership and teaching roles, ensuring that the Masters degree program in AI Ethics & Society is of the very highest academic quality and professional standards, commensurate with the University of Cambridge's reputation as one of the world's greatest seats of learning.

ICE delivers high quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying on a part-time basis, for either personal enrichment or professional development. It aims to ensure that the expertise and resources of the University of Cambridge are made available to all students, irrespective of their previous educational achievements. CFI is an interdisciplinary centre dedicated to researching the ethics and impact of AI. It is a collaboration between the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and the University of California Berkeley.

The Course Co-leaders will work collaboratively to lead the management, development, orchestration, teaching, and ongoing evaluation and improvement of a new Master of Studies (MSt) in AI Ethics.

This is an exciting opportunity for two talented individuals to make a major contribution to the advancement of leadership, research and policy in beneficial AI - arguably, one of the most important issues of our time - by shaping world-leading postgraduate education in this area.

The course will align closely to the world-leading work in AI Ethics conducted at CFI, and the Course Co-leaders will work together to create a collaborative structured environment to ensure that the course is led and informed by the centre's multifaceted expertise.

Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant field and provide evidence of: a strong track record in postgraduate-level course design, excellence in teaching, and an interest in engagement with interdisciplinary policy and technology communities.

Candidates should have a demonstrable ability to take an interdisciplinary approach and to identify collaborative opportunities within and beyond the university where appropriate. Alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills, the candidate will also have an understanding, enthusiasm and flair for engaging academically with a broad spectrum of colleagues and students and a demonstrable commitment to the principles and delivery of continuing education.
