09:00 Oboe class: French Oboe Sonatas – Poulenc and Saint-Saëns. Bassoon class: Hurlstone – Sonata in F major for Bassoon and Piano. This session will include discussion of the historical context and performance history, including examination of important recordings, and the musical and technical challenges of the pieces. Participants may prepare a small section (eg. one movement) of the work, and will be given the opportunity to perform and work on it in the session.

11:00 Oboe class: Hindemith – Sonata for Oboe and Piano. Bassoon class: Hindemith – Sonata for Bassoon and Piano. This session will include discussion of the historical context and performance history, including examination of important recordings, and the musical and technical challenges of the piece. Participants may prepare a small section (eg. one movement) of the work, and will be given the opportunity to perform and work on it in the session.

16:30 Oboe class: Focus on JS Bach. Bassoon class: The Vivaldi Concerti. This session will focus on music from the Baroque period, examining style, interpretation and performance practice. Participants may prepare a small section (eg. one movement) of a work by one of the named composers, and will be given the opportunity to perform and work on it in the session.

11:00 Warm-ups and Studies. In this session we will focus on how to warm up efficiently and effectively, and how to get the most out of the various study books available.
