About the tutor

Dr Justin Meggitt has studied and taught in various universities in the UK, USA and Canada and held a variety of posts in the University of Cambridge (including a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellowship) before joining the Institute of Continuing Education full-time in 2004. He continues to play an active part in undergraduate and graduate teaching in the Faculty of Divinity, where he has taught and examined in various capacities since 1996, and is also a visiting researcher at Stockholm University. Although a specialist in the origins of Christianity and religion in antiquity, as Academic Director for the Study of Religion he has a particular interest in helping facilitate the critical study of religion more generally, both ancient and modern. As Academic Director for Classics he has responsibility for Classical languages, literature and ancient history, and is Programme Director of the Ancient Empires Summer School.
