In his Medea, the great Greek playwright Euripides portrays, with extraordinary psychological insight, a child-killing and vengeful mother. We shall be exploring the boundaries between men and women and between Greek and barbarian. Above all, we shall be trying to discover what makes this play so thrilling 2,500 years after its first performance.
