In principle, science proceeds by proving some theories right and others wrong. However, in practice, the evidence does not always explain why some ideas gain support and others do not. This course looks at abandoned scientific ideas, and explores the reasons why they were rejected. Topics will include phrenology, psychical research, and the memory of water.
