Art and the life of an artist are rarely so inextricably entwined as with these two painters; Tissot is renowned for his depiction of sophisticated society of Victorian London and Paris, whilst Grimshaw is renowned for his poetical moonlight scenes. However both artists reveal much about their personal lives, in pictures that depicted their home, friends and loved ones, giving us a unique insight into the Victorian artist's world.
