Front of House Supervisor

We are seeking to appoint a Front of House Supervisor to oversee the front of house function of Hall Operations ensuring that guests, staff and customers are met with the highest standards of welcome and information.
The role holder will lead a small team of receptionists and conference assistants in the delivery of reception, reservations and portering tasks within a business residential conference environment. The role holder will also form part of the Duty Management team responsible for the day to day operations of the venue.
Madingley Hall is a beautiful venue set in expansive grounds, and just a few miles from Cambridge city centre. Parking is freely available to staff, and a bus service runs close by. There are currently around 150 staff working at the Institute, comprising a mix of academic, administrative, and hospitality-based roles.
As well as running its academic programmes, the Hall actively promotes wedding receptions, catering events, individual bed and breakfast accommodation and social events. At any one time there will be up to 180 short-term customers/students on the site, up to 84 short-term residents (one to five nights) and likely to be functions and events taking place (anything from concerts for 100, garden parties for 500, to wedding receptions and lectures).
The role-holder will be expected to work 5 variable days per week, with specific days determined by a rota system to cover the peak operational hours Monday to Sunday. The successful candidate will have supervisory experience in a customer service environment, preferably from within a hotel or similar environment.
