Medical Education

Cambridge University Institute of Continuing Education, in collaboration with School of Clinical Medicine, offers a suite of stackable part-time postgraduate awards in Medical Education for healthcare professionals, educators, educational leaders and researchers who wish to develop their educational practice.

These courses, the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and the Master of Studies (MSt), are purposefully aligned to relevant professional standards for medical and healthcare educators.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education focuses on the development of participants’ educational practice. This can be taken as a stand-alone course, or, upon completion, students may apply for progression on to the PGDip.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education offers opportunities to extend expertise in curriculum design, assessment practices, faculty development and educational supervision. Upon completion of the PGDip, students may progress to the final MSt year to gain a full Master’s degree in Medical Education.

The Master of Studies in Medical Education has an emphasis on educational development and research activity, providing opportunities for participants to apply their educational knowledge to develop a small-scale educational research or development project relevant to their own context(s) of practice.
