Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)
Prior to the screening of La La Land, this workshop gives an insight into some of the key US musicals in film history and how they have contributed to the phenomenon of cinema musicals of which La La Land is one example. Let this workshop rejuvenate your awareness of the genre before you are swept away by the magic of the film itself.
This workshop is led by ICE Tutor Dr Loreta Gandolfi who currently also works as an affiliated lecturer in Film for the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge. She collaborates as a film curator and film programmer with the Cambridge Film Festival and the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. She writes film reviews, interviews and festival reports for a variety of film journals.
