Helen Cross
Short Biog
Helen Cross is the author of four novels including My Summer of Love, which became an award-winning movie starring Emily Blunt. Two of her original screenplays are currently in development with UK film companies. Her short stories are published in various magazines and anthologies, including most recently The Manchester Review, Popshot and, Digbeth Stories. She is the recipient of fellowships and scholarships from Arts Council of England, The British Council, Cove Park, and Banff Centre for Arts, Canada. She has written audio drama for BBC Radio for twenty years and is currently writing podcast dramas including two seasons of the acclaimed BBC Limelight series English Rose, currently available on BBC Sounds. Her latest BBC Audio Drama is Flixborough 74, broadcast on 28 May 2024 at 2.15 on BBC Radio 4. Helen is also an experienced lecturer in creative writing and has worked for many universities including on the MA in Creative Writing at UEA. She also works regularly for the Arvon foundation and runs her own popular online writing courses. www.helencross.net.
