Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)
We are seeking to appoint a positive and friendly part time Receptionist to join a busy, award- winning team. You will provide excellent levels of customer care and attention across all areas of the department.
The successful applicants will have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently while in a pressurised environment.
Madingley Hall is a beautiful venue set in expansive grounds, and just a few miles from Cambridge city centre. Parking is freely available to staff, and a bus service runs close by. There are currently around 150 staff working at the Institute, comprising a mix of academic, administrative, and hospitality-based roles.
As well as running its academic programmes, the Hall actively promotes wedding receptions, catering events, individual bed and breakfast accommodation and social events. At any one time there will be up to 180 short- term customers/students on the site, up to 84 short-term residents (one to five nights) and functions and events taking place (anything from concerts for 100, garden parties for 500, to wedding receptions and lectures).
The role-holder will be expected to work variable days per week, with specific days determined by a rota system to cover the peak operational hours Monday to Sunday. In return we offer generous annual leave entitlements, training and development opportunities, an extensive employee benefits scheme and a contributory pension scheme.
