Virtual Summer Festival of Learning

For nearly a century, the University’s International Summer Programmes have brought people together, face-to-face, to hear our academics discuss ideas and discoveries. This year we had to find new ways to share inspirational learning with our global community of adult students.

We’re delighted to announce that our first ever Virtual Summer Festival of Learning was a huge success. Participants from over 50 countries enjoyed over 85 courses covering a range of disciplines. Our free open-access talks attracted a wide audience and showcased the variety of subjects on offer here at the University, as well as current research.

If you would like to join us for future Virtual Festivals please Register your interest here.

Our free open-access talks ranged from Animal Rights Law, Machiavelli and the virus, and Tudor neuroscience to Jane Austen and her modern collaborators, Digital productivity and digital wellbeing and The beauty of silk.

A full list of these talks can be viewed here.

Our virtual Pre-University Summer Programme brought together 240 high-school students from across the globe, providing them with an opportunity to sample talks in a wide variety of subject areas, as they prepare for future undergraduate study at leading global universities.
