Patrick Harding received his BSc degree in Agricultural Botany followed by his D Phil in evolutionary ecology at the University of York. He taught undergraduates for 7 years before spending 17 years at the University of Sheffield where he organised and taught on one of the largest extramural science programmes in the country. He has been freelance for the last 20 years.
Patrick Harding has contributed courses for the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education for over 30 years and served as external examiner for the Certificate in Practical Horticulture and Plantsmanship run at the Botanic Garden. He also teaches for Oxford University and for a range of institutions including the Forestry Commission and county Wildlife Trusts. He is the author of eight books about wild flowers, trees, fungi and herbal medicine.
Patrick imparts information through profusely illustrated lectures backed up by book displays, discussion and field visits. He considers humour important and steers away from a dry approach. Patrick has considerable media experience including both television and radio inputs.
