Dr Sandford is an honorary consultant in clinical genetics in the East of England Medical Genetics Service. He is also specialty lead and a university reader in renal genetics. His research interests include inherited renal and liver disease, the genetics of autoimmune liver disease and transformation of clinical genomic testing. He is module lead for stratified medicine in the University of Cambridge MSt in Genomic Medicine. He has extensive experience in teaching genetics and genomics to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the UK and worldwide.
