We think we invented disruptive technology but humans have been doing disruptive technology since the first humanoid picked up a stone and thought about it as a tool. Sadly, however, little writing about technology survives from ancient civilisations but we can find instances in the ancient world of genuinely disruptive technology - as soon as you start to look for it, it is all over the place. These lectures will look at some examples of ancient technological innovations and consider the question of disruption in a relatively low-tech society.
