This course will explore the varying ways that philosophers and theorists have written about art through the ages. Focusing on a different writer each day, we will examine the complex relationship between primary texts and artistic practice, as well as the widely differing approaches of key figures through history. Participants will be guided through each theorist's key ideas, and will be introduced to complimentary texts.

All courses will be delivered via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) that allows you to study and learn online, access learning resources, and interact with your tutor and fellow students.

You will need to have access to:

- the internet via a computer or smart device

- a webcam and microphone for any interactive sessions which may be available

- speakers or headphones in order to hear pre-recorded material provided by the Course Director
